Summer Art Intensives have officially begun!

We're very excited to begin our first Summer Art Intensive of 2017!  It is Miss Jenna Gibson's Large Canvas Painting camp and our students are already coming up with some very creative ideas!  We can't wait to see the final paintings from these very talented little artists!

Speaking of talented artists!  We have the very awesome Hazel, one of our former students, acting as teaching assistant and she is doing an incredible job!  Thanks, Hazel!

Next up is our Visionary Cityscape Summer Art Intensive with Steve Ohlrich, which will begin next Monday, June 19 and will run until Friday, June 23.  There is still space available, so sign up now!

STUDY: Object / Ground

GOAL: An object is any shape that stands out from the background and registers to the eye as "something."  Ground is the space around objects.  This can be referred to as positive and negative space.

If you are having trouble drawing an object so that it looks right, you can switch to drawing the background shape instead.  Looking at the shapes between parts of the object can give you a fresh perspective, and really help your drawing skills!

Does my child need previous experience with drawing or painting?

Not at art/work/place!  At art/work/place, we work one-on-one with our students as they progress through our Curriculum.  So if your child is brand new to art or if your child has been drawing and painting for years, this is the right place for you!

Join us for 90 minute lessons once-a-week, or enroll in one of our Summer Art Intensives!

Space available in our Large Canvas Painting camp!

We are very excited about our first Summer Art Intensive which will begin on Monday, June 12!  It is our Large Canvas Painting camp and will be taught by the most awesome Jenna Gibson.

Choose any subject, learn how thumbnails lead to better composition, study how color can influence mood and create harmony, see how scale affects composition when transferring the final composition to an 18"x24" canvas, and, finally, practice brushwork and acrylic painting techniques.
