Have fun while you learn at one of our Summer Art Intensives!
As arts programs continue to be cut from schools, children may be losing out on the many benefits of arts education. Creativity is known to be an important factor in success, and it’s a great idea to get kids started early. Drawing and painting are particularly beneficial, and not only when it comes to making art. It can also enhance your ability to later understand difficult concepts such as geography and math.
Our Summer Art Intensives are a great opportunity for students to learn art in a special way, in a setting where they will be around like-minded peers who share their interests, and instructors who will give them the individual attention and care that they deserve.
For parents, feel great about keeping your kids learning and working while they are out of school. For kids, grab this chance to make new friends, boost your confidence, and have fun while you learn!
It's not supposed to be perfect. It's supposed to be yours.
One of the most common things that I hear from a parent who is interested in scheduling an Introductory Lesson for their child sounds something similar to this: "My child really enjoys drawing, but I don't really know if he's that good."
What makes art good? You do, just you. Making and enjoying art is not about being perfect. It's about being perfectly you. So what if the flower that you just drew doesn't look exactly like the flower outside your window? That flower is already doing a great job of looking like itself, so allow yourself the freedom to let your drawing look like your vision of that flower.
The piece below on the left is a perfect example. What a beautiful interpretation done by one of our students.

2016 Ornament Competition
Come make an ornament for the South Pasadena Holiday Tree!
Workshops on Monday, Nov 14 & 21 from 3- 5pm.
Located right next door to the South Pasadena Middle School.
We provide the supplies!
Your fabulous creation will be featured on the South Pasadena Holiday Tree during the tree lighting on December 1st.
All participants get a prize and you can take your ornament home after the ceremony.

Moving on up!
We are so pleased to announce that we will be moving to a new, beautiful, and more spacious location beginning August 30th. It's a wonderful opportunity, giving us space to grow our classes and services. We have some exciting developments planned for the year ahead!
Our current class schedule will remain the same for the month of August, then we will add additional class times and begin offering a wider variety of classes, including specific classes for 3-5 year olds beginning October.
Moving to this new location is the first step in building art/work/place into the hub of unbelievably fun art education that it has always set out to be. We want to say "Thanks!!" to those of you who see and appreciate what we offer. We are so grateful to have your support and encouragement as we head into this exciting new stage!
