art / work / prep .... part II

We've been working so hard here to make sure every part of the art / work / place experience is wonderfully complete in preparation for our opening on April 1st. Things feel like they are coming together, and we can hardly wait to finally begin!

Check out our handmade aprons! The art / work / place stencil on the chest was the finishing touch.

Our sign is still a work in progress, but coming along nicely.

At long last, we have begun preparations for the opening of art / work / place! Thanks to Woodbury University, we were able to source the basic materials for our stools and working tables from a project that was completed by a fifth year student. His design model for modular building was entered into a design competition as a part of his studies. After the competitions conclusion, the remaining modular blocks were headed for the trash when Kare, of art / work / place, saw potential in their form. After some design collaboration, we got to work. We spent the weekend in Woodbury University shop re-purposing the basic units into versatile stools and working tables for the studio.
