“Working for the Weekend!”
Aug 21- Sept 18
Take a mid week dip into the creative zone! These workshops intentionally allow students the freedom to experiment and design through the making process. We provide the prompt and materials, the student provides their imagination.
Explore positive and negative space while creating your own unique design. Play around with mirroring and the placement of light and dark elements in your design.
Learn the basics of working with sculpey clay or use the skills you already have to create your own clay sculptures. Artists will focus on making pinch pots and coil structures.
Get inspired by the work of Wayne Thiebaud to create your own delicious masterpiece in the material of your choice.
Relax and let yourself have fun creating your own patterns and designs in these mixed media drawings. Explore color, pattern and line. We will look to artists like Romero Britto for inspiration.
EXPLORATION INTO PRINTMAKING
Discover the endless possibilities of what you can create through the process of printmaking. Students will learn both a Relief Printmaking and Collagraph Printmaking technique as they explore the process of making multiples, and enjoy seeing how no 2 prints are alike.
